Naming Ceremonies

Naming Ceremonies

What’s in a name?

It may be hopes and dreams for the future of your child, or to follow a long family tradition or simply because you liked it!

The naming of a child has been a symbolic ritual through history, and a celebrant led naming ceremony gives everyone the opportunity to celebrate this occasion, regardless of religion, race or any other belief system.

We will choose poetry, music and readings that will create the atmosphere that you desire and I can even craft a bespoke poem for you.

Together we will create a very personal ceremony around your family traditions or create new traditions from this day.

The structure of a naming ceremony is very fluid and you can choose to incorporate any of the following suggestions or we can create something completely unique.

  • The meaning of the name
  • Welcoming the child
  • Parents’ promises & commitments
  • Supporting Adults’( Godparents) commitments
  • Special elements including; naming ribbons, wishing tree, time capsule or sand ceremonies. There are numerous ways we can incorporate traditional rituals into your special naming ceremony. We can even create new ones that use family heirlooms or the family’s interests.
  • Presentation of gifts

You can choose as many friends or relatives as you wish, to be your child’s supporting adults and we can also include any other children present to be involved in the ceremony.

We can hold the ceremony at any venue, whether that is outdoors or inside, on any day or at any time *

Your child’s naming ceremony will create beautiful memories for everyone to share.

Price from £350*

*A Saturday during May –September has an additional charge as this is peak wedding season.
